Guillaume Lacroix, the Consul General of France to the Midwest, will be interacting with the people and organizations of West Michigan on Tuesday, September 25.
Mr. Lacroix will be speaking on “France’s New Business Climate,” at a 12 noon luncheon at the University Club, 111 Lyon St. NW in downtown Grand Rapids, an event sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan.
He will be joined in the noon presentation by Ms. Nadya Mushaffen, the head of the investment division in the Business France, Chicago office.
Then, in Calvin College’s Commons Lecture Hall (just west of the Covenant Fine Arts Center), there will be a 6:15 p.m. reception followed by a 7:00 p.m. presentation on the topic “French-U.S. Relations: A Beneficial History and a Hopeful Future,” co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council and Calvin College’s Department of French.

Mr. Lacroix has been in his diplomatic post since August 29, 2017. Previously, he has served in the Department of African and Indian Ocean Affairs in Paris, the French Embassy in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and the French Embassy in Washington, D.C.
From 2013 until 2017, he served in the French Foreign Affairs Department as a Counsellor for African Affairs.
Mr. Lacroix holds diplomas from Institut d'études politiques de Paris and Université Panthéon-Assas. He speaks Swahili, a language he studied at Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales in Paris and in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
